Barbora Chalupová is one of the faces of the new young generation of Czech directors. She established herself even with her student´s works. Her first movie Ďakujem ti melónik (2014) was screened at Edinburgh International Film Festival and at festival of short movies iShorts and was also selected as one of the candidates for the prize Magnesia. Another movie Do zbraně (2016) was nominated for Pavel Koutecký prize and was screened at Jihlava international film festival of documentary films and festival Jeden svět. Another movie Teorie rovnosti (2017) the director mapped the current debates about gender equality in Czechia. The she made an experimental movie Na okraji (2018) about the flat earth community in Czech republic. After that she directed a movie Reality. In 2020 she received highest of Czech prizes Český lev for her film co-directed with Vít Klusák V síti. This documentary about internet predators has become the highest grossing documentary in the history of Czech republic. After three years of filming she finished her movie Zákon lásky.
